Fundraising is a way to support the goals of our organization promoting educational opportunities for women and youth on the Saanich Peninsula as well as a way to socialize with other members and be involved in a positive way for the betterment of the community. To ensure that the pursuit of raising dollars is not onerous our club has decided to have a number of smaller projects in addition to a couple of major annual events. The smaller projects are as follows:
- Thrifty Smile cards: Donna Miller can issue you a card and then when you shop, load your card with an amount (you can use Visa or Mastercard) before your groceries are processed. Your receipt shows the charity which receives the percentage. There is no cost to you and we get up to $1000/year loyalty dollars from Thrifty Foods thanks to our members utilizing this program. Great way to monitor your grocery purchases!
- Amazon.com and Chapters.ca Link with our Website: Go to the SHOP THROUGH US link on this webpage under the Fundraising tab. CFUW-SP gets a commission from any purchase made by us or our friends (purchases can be made by non CFUW members). If you need help with this please ask.
- Travelodge Liquor Store Program: Anyone who purchases items at the Travelodge Liquor store can mention: CFUW at the till. Our club then gets a 10% bonus in points. Prices are comparable to BC Liquor store. Points then can be used for purchases for silent auction items.
- Membership directory advertising: We encourage members to support our advertisers as they help reduce our operating costs of running the club.
The organization of Fundraising is shared by various people (e.g., Bridge Event Chair and Chairs of other fundraisers while general coordination of fundraising initiatives is by Fundraising Chair - 2016-17 Donna Miller).
