Scholarships for graduating seniors from Peninsula high schools are a key part of CFUW Saanich Peninsula’s mandate. Says President Fiona St. Clair, “Since supporting and enabling women’s education is one of our primary purposes, the funds raised from our annual book sales are central to what we do and very much needed to funding our Education Trust Fun, which manages the scholarships and grants that we provide to high school, college and university women each year.”

As member and well-known author Lorna Crozier says, “If you have a book in your hands, no matter your age, you’re a life-long learner.  When you buy one of our books, you get the pleasure of a good read and then, you pass that pleasure on by supporting a student.  Her life will be enriched by what she also discovers in the pages of a book in her classes this fall. And long after.  Book to book to book, and so the learning continues and grows.” Crozier is the author of 25 books and an Officer of the Order of Canada.

The Foundation is committed to improving quality of life on the Saanich Peninsula by promoting and increasing responsible, effective and accessible philanthropy. Our Annual Book Sale receive a very generous grant from SPCF to cover operating costs, so all proceeds from the Sale will support eduational opportunities for Saanich Peninsula student.
