CFUW Saanich Peninsula invites members, their friends and colleagues for a private viewing of Queen of Katwe at the Star Cinema in Sidney for our Club’s second annual celebration of Literacy Day!
This film depicts the life of Phiona Mutesi, a girl living in Katwe, a slum of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. She learns to play chess and becomes a Woman Candidate Master after her victories at World Chess Olympiads.
